myGroundForce Toast Notifications and Expiration Alerts

Toast Notifications (In-App Notifications)

Overview

myGroundForce displays toast notifications in the upper-right corner of the Dashboard to alert users about items that require attention.

These notifications appear:

  • When you log in to myGroundForce.
  • When you return to the Dashboard screen from another area of the application.

Each notification includes a More details link that opens the related report.

Note: Closing a notification does not resolve the underlying issue.

How Notification Rules Work

Some notifications are displayed only after an item has expired, while others are shown before an event occurs.

Notifications Displayed Only After Expiration

The following notifications appear only when the expiration date has already passed:

NotificationDisplay Rule
DOT Medical ExpirationDOT Medical Expiration Date is earlier than today's date.
CDL ExpirationCDL Expiration Date is earlier than today's date.
Annual InspectionAnnual Inspection Date is earlier than today's date.

Example

If today's date is July 15:

  • DOT Medical expires July 10: notification is displayed.
  • DOT Medical expires July 20: notification is not displayed.

Important: The Dashboard notification does not use the advance warning notifications settings configured for SMS/Email Notifications. Those settings affect the SMS/Email Notifications but do not control the Dashboard toast notifications.

Notifications Displayed Before an Event

Scheduled Maintenance

Scheduled Maintenance notifications are proactive and may appear before maintenance becomes overdue.

By default, a notification is displayed when either threshold is reached:

  • 2,500 miles remaining
  • 45 days remaining

These thresholds are configurable per company.

Missing Monthly Maintenance Record (MMR)

An MMR notification is displayed when an active vehicle does not have a maintenance record for the previous month.

Why Didn't I Receive a DOT, CDL, or Annual Inspection Toast Notifications (In-App Notifications)?

This is expected behavior when the item has not expired yet.

The orange Dashboard notification only displays expired DOT Medical, CDL, and Annual Inspection items. It does not display items that are approaching their expiration date.

For example:

  • DOT Medical expires in 30 days: no Dashboard notification appears.
  • DOT Medical expired yesterday: Dashboard notification appears.

To review upcoming expirations, use the corresponding expiration report.
