Labor Utilization

Labor Utilization

The Labor Utilization dashboard displays the total revenue of your company divided by the total payroll costs it accumulates, aiming to answer the question: how much revenue does a dollar of payroll generate? This information can be sorted by Week Endings, Monthly and Quarterly periods as well as a specific region.

Use the checkbox Deduct Fuel Surcharge to remove that value from the calculation.

The formula for the Net Revenue x Mile is as follows:

Labor Utilization = Total Revenue / Total Payroll Cost

The Total Revenue is calculated through the sum of different sources of revenue such as the Linehaul Daily Gross Amount, the Shuttle Daily Gross Amount, the Spot and Other Settlement Adjustments total. All of these values come from the settlement. Meanwhile the Total Payroll Cost includes all approved payroll payments for both drivers and non-drivers included in the Payroll Report.

The Y axis displays the result of the formula, showing how much revenue you’re making in comparison to your payroll costs for each date displayed in the X axis.
