Automated Weekend Incentive Payroll

Automated Weekend Incentive Payroll

The Weekend Incentive Automation feature makes it easier to pay weekend bonuses by automatically calculating them from your FedEx settlement file. This removes manual work and ensures drivers receive the correct incentive payments for runs completed on Saturdays and Sundays.

This feature is available only in the Linehaul version of MyGroundForce. It does not apply to the P&D version.

How does it work?

When your settlement file is uploaded (either automatically or manually), the system looks at each run:

  1. Checks if it happened on a Saturday or Sunday.

  2. If yes, applies the configured weekend bonus rules.

  3. The bonus is then automatically added to payroll for the driver(s).

You can set up incentives at both the Entity level (company-wide defaults) or the Employee level (individual settings).

Bonus Types Available

You can choose one or more types of weekend incentives:

  1. Per-Mile Bonus

    • Pay drivers extra per mile driven on weekends.

    • Example: Solo driver, $0.20 per mile → A 50-mile trip = $10 bonus.

  2. Flat Bonus (Per Run)

    • Pay a fixed amount for each eligible weekend run.

    • Example: $25 flat bonus per trip → One weekend run = $25 bonus.

  3. Tiered Bonus (By Number of Trips)

    • Reward drivers based on how many weekend trips they complete.

    • Example: 3-trip threshold with $50 bonus → A driver with 7 trips earns $100 bonus.

  4. Team Driving Bonus (Per-Mile)

    • If more than one driver is assigned to a run, a different per-mile rate can apply.

    • Example: $0.10 per mile for team drivers → A 50-mile run = $5 bonus.

InfoImportant Notes
  • Weekend = Saturday and Sunday by default.

  • Incentives only apply if Weekend Incentive is enabled in the employee’s payroll settings.
